Parent Advocates

Trail Association for Community Living (TACL) is supportive of families, having a designated person on the Board of Directors that works as an advocate on behalf of the family of the clients. This person is responsible for ensuring that the families request for needs are met and fulfilled and whose purpose is to strengthen and support families faced with the extraordinary circumstances that come with having a family member who has a disability.

Parents are the experts when it comes to understanding their own children.

Christette Cromarty, has been a member of the TACL board and volunteer since 2006. As a parent of an individual served, she has extensive knowledge about the challenges and rewards of raising a child and adult with special needs and is a strong advocate for the rights of persons served. Christette is an instructor at Selkirk College, has earned the Provincial Instructor Diploma, and is a Practitioner and Fellow member of the American Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity.
